Filing while military overseas

Hi!

Filing from Okinawa, our W2 has our APO address and zip code.

Our state of record and our driver's licenses are WA.

Due to the zip code and state not matching, it will not let me e-file. It just brings up the page to 'fix' over and over.

How do I fix this? Paper filing would take forever!

You can try entering your Washington address on the W-2 entry if you have one.

Thanks Thomas, but there is no Washington address on the W-2. I'm currently going back to last year's taxes and seeing if I did something different because we were in the same location/situation but this problem never popped up.

I realize there is no Washington address on the W-2 but if you have a Washington address, you can try entering that even though it isn't listed on the W-2 form. As long as the social security number and name are correct, the IRS will not be too concerned about the address.

Ok, I could try our old one, but we sold that house. And our mailing address is in Missouri, so it's all kinds of mixed up info. I just don't want anything kicked back.

I figured it out! I went back through all my personal info, which was correct. THEN when to the W-2 form and realized that I had selected a US address in the drop down instead of Military APO! That explains why I didn't have this issue last year with all the same information. Thanks for your help!

You shouldn't enter an old address, use one that you can get your mail at.

Try to leave the state blank, and it should push through
