@Neyney89  you will definitely have to prove your identity in person at your district IRS office. I've had this happen to me before. Had to drive almost 2 hours away. Had to have federal return, social security card, and photo ID. I had pregnancy brain and forgot my return packet but I told them I lived 2 hours away and she worked with me so I wouldn't have to go back home and then all the way back. But don't forget anything. With all this virus stuff going on it could take some time to get an appointment. Usually you can walk in go through security and then take a number but most places are closed to the public right now and only seeing people by appointment only.
