Retirement tax questions
1) the employer 401k plan is only for you. You cannot contribute into it for your spouse.
2) Once 2019 ends, you cannot make any new contribution to a 401k for 2019. (the option to contribute before April 2020 and have it back-applied to 2019 is only allowed for actual IRA accounts )
3) For contributing to a ROTH IRA for either of you for 2019 it doesn't sound like you will be limited to less than 6,000 if you file MFJ.......BUT, read all of the following. All your income for both of you isi used to figure whether a limit will be applied for the ROTH IRA contributions....The limit is described here:
