Retirement tax questions
Sounds like it doesn't think you are filing a Joint return. Go back to My Info and check that she is listed and that under your name it shows filing Joint.
Are you entering the Social Security in the right spot? If you are filing Joint there is 2 columns, one for you and one for spouse.
Enter a SSA-1099, SSA-1099-SM or RRB-1099 under
Federal Taxes (Personal for Home&Business)
Wages and Income
Then scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security
Then the second line - Social Security (SSA-1099. RRB-1099) - click the Start or Revisit button
On the SSA- 1099 entry screen, if you are married there will be 2 columns, one for each spouse. If it doesn't show 2 columns then go back to My Info or Personal and edit the primary spouse to make sure you checked married and filing together.
