There is a statement that you should have selected - This is not money earned as an employee or self-employed individual, it is from sporadic activity or hobby
This would have put the amount entered on the Form 1099-NEC on Schedule 1 Line 8z. The total from Schedule 1 Line 10 flows to the Form 1040 Line 9 as ordinary income.
