Retirement tax questions

Yep, that is a known BUG for the desktop software...delelteing the SS Benefits worksheet in Forms Mode might eliminate it (but I'm not sure):

.....Hope to H.E.doublehockey sticks that TTX is working on it.

That error tracks to the fact that you used a Supporting Details (SD) worksheet in a prior year for at least one of the fields on the SSA-1099 form worksheet that TTX uses in the background.

AND this year's BIG BUG is that it screws up the interview....dumping you back to the interview menu.

One workaround solution is to switch to Forms Mode, and enter your SSA-1099 data into lines A, B, C, D, E in the Soc Security benefits worksheet.  As you enter that data (lines are labeled as to what boxes are used), you should find that one or more of the entries has an SD sheet attached to it.  If you delete every SD sheet, you should get access to it in that interview again.   When you first open the SS Benefits worksheet in Forms Mode, one or more of the lines for A,B,C,D,E will have a 0. in it...that line has an SD sheet.  As soon as you try to enter a $$$ amount on that line, the SD sheet will pop up if there is one. (yeah, line C is probably blank for most people)

I suggest deleting any SD sheet you find, if you don't need it this year

Stinks....but that's the workaround.
