Retirement tax questions

Box 18 would be your local wages.  Did you work in 2 different local jurisdictions?  Or do you live in one town and work in a different town?  It is possible that your company withheld taxes for both jurisdictions.  Then your income may be being reported twice at different rates to the different taxing jurisdictions.  Once to your home taxing authority and once to your employers location.

Are boxes 3,5 and 16 the same as what is in box 1 or is it the same as box 18?  If box 1 is different than boxes 3,5, 16 and 18, then it is likely because you are making contributions to things such as a 401k or medical insurance premiums that are made pretax and not included in box 1 of your w2.

If the above does not apply, you may need to call your employer to find out if this is an error in entry.  They can then send you a corrected W-2 reporting the correct amount of income for your local taxes.

Unless you live in one of the local jurisdictions that TurboTax covers, the duplicated income will not have an affect on your return as it is not reported or used for any calculations.  If you are itemizing your return, then do double check to be sure that the taxes withheld on your W2 box 19 match what you had withheld on your paystubs.
