Retirement tax questions

If you are entering an SSA-1099, and are asked for a TIN...Then you are attempting the enter that SSA-1099 on the WRONG FORM.

 

Get out of that form (probably a 1099-R) and delete it from your file.

 

Then find the SSA-1099 menu item on the Wages&Income page and enter it there.  The boxes match in the interview entry of the form, and the is no request for a TIN or Federal ID nnumber.
