Yes you can still claim your child as a dependent if he is receiving SS.   Your child's Social Security benefits do NOT get entered on your tax return.   Someday, if and when your child has other income---such as income from an after school job -- then the SSA1099 will go on his own tax return along with his other income.   His SS benefits are not ever entered on your tax return.
