Retirement tax questions

For Social Security checks you get, just enter it in Federal.   Up to 85% of Social Security becomes taxable when all your other income plus 1/2 your social security, reaches:

Married Filing Jointly: $32,000

Single or head of household: $25,000

Married Filing Separately: 0

Then for California, if any of your SS is taxable on Federal it will be automatically subtracted from the CA return.  So yes it is in the software.  I'm in CA and get SS, it does CA right.
