Retirement tax questions

Your instructions to log SSA 1009R are wrong as far as I can tell. There 4 options for 1099s, 1099 financial orgs, CSA 1099, CSF 1099 and railroad 1099. I clicked on the "financial" 1099 box and fill it in myself and there is no SSA option. I'm about ready to switch to another free tax provider.
You are in the wrong section of Retirement Plans and Social Security. You are entering the SSA-1099 in the IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R) area.
You are supposed to enter the SSA-1099 in the Social Security (SSA-1099, RRB-1099 area.
Don't know how I could have made it more clear -
To enter Social Security benefits reported on form SSA-1099
- Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
- Click on Wages and Income (Personal Income using Home and Business)
- Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
- Scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security
- On Social Security (SSA-1099, RRB-1099), click the start or update button
Or enter ssa-1099 in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to ssa-1099
