Retirement tax questions

Did you file a 2018 tax return?  Or was the Social Security your only income for 2018?  If Social Security was your ONLY income for 2018 then you do not need to do anything with that SSA1099 because you did not need to file a 2018 tax return.  But if you did have other income for 2018 and did not include the SSA1099, then you need to amend your already filed 2018 return.  Use the link to amend a return already provided to you in this thread if you need to amend.

 

Where to enter a SSA1099:

 

  Go to Federal> Wages & Income>>Retirement Plans and Social Security  (SSA1099 and 1099RRB) to enter your SSA1099.
