Once the return is open:
- Click on Federal
- Click on Wages & Income
- Scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security
- Click on Visit all if available on 1099-R, IRAs, 401(k), early withdrawals
- When you see screen Tell US Which 1099-R You Have, click on I need to prepare a substitute 1099-R
