This is likely because you did not select the box that says you have already completed 4 years of school.
Go back to your 1098-T entry section and walk through the steps. You will come to a question that says do any of these apply. One of the questions is did you complete 4 years of college? Say yes or put a check mark in that box. This will take away the American Opportunity Tax Credit and give you the Lifetime Learning Credit if you qualify.

- Federal
- Deductions and Credits
- Education
- 1098-T
