If your child DID check that they can be claimed as someone else's dependent you will not have a problem when you claim them and try to e-file.
If your child made the very common mistake of saying no one could claim them----that is when you have a problem and your e-file will be rejected. If that happens, your own return will need to be filed by mail. You will not be able to e-file this year. And your child will have to amend their return to change that answer in MY INFO. You do not have to wait for them to amend. You can mail your return when it is ready to go into an envelope.
