As you walk through the personal info section of TurboTax you will be asked your name, address, social security number, marital status and many other questions. Answer them all accurately. Then you will be asked to enter your dependents, including their social security numbers and how long they lived with you and if they paid more than half of their own living expenses along with several other questions. Read each question and answer accurately.
You will then need to enter your income. TurboTax will guide you through all the questions you need to answer similar to sitting down with someone across the desk, but instead you are reading the questions for yourself. The program will guide you through your available credits and deductions based on your answers to get you the best tax scenario available to you.
