Education
The income limits will vary depending on which education credit you are inquiring about. You'll find those here below:
- To qualify for the American Opportunity Credit,, your modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) cannot exceed $90,000 for Single or Head of Household filers ($180,000 if Married Filing Jointly).
- For the Lifetime Learning Credit, your 2016 MAGI, cannot exceed $65,000 for Single or Head of Household filers ($131,000 if Married Filing Jointly).
- To qualify for the Tuition and Fees Deduction, your modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) cannot exceed $80,000 for Single or Head of Household filers ($160,000 if Married Filing Jointly).
