No you do not need the Business program. That is to prepare the 1041 and Schedule K-1 return. If you are using the Online version you will need to use Premium to enter a K-1. So you have to upgrade if you are in Deluxe or the Free Edition.
If you have the Desktop installed program then any version will work. All the Desktop programs have the same forms. You just get more help and guidance in the higher versions.
You should not amend until the first return has fully processed and you get the first refund or your tax due payment has cleared.
