No, you do not need to amend, but you can if you want to. The only thing that matters is that the totals add up to 100%. So if you only wanted to claim 1/3 of the premiums and each of them did the same (one would have to claim 34%) it is fine. If you want to claim 100% and you did not, then yes, you can Amend Your Return
If your children are no longer dependents and you have not already done so, you should update your policy to remove them from the policy and then they can apply and get their own policy.
