Deductions & credits
To get around this, you can review your entries to make sure nothing has been entered regarding mortgage interest.
Mortgage interest would be reported on a Form 1098. You can get to the screens for entering mortgage interest by typing "1098" into the search bar and then click on "Jump to 1098." You can also get to them by typing "mortgage interest" into the search bar and click on" Jump to mortgage interest"
If you had mortgage interest on a prior years and filed with TurboTax it will ask you if you have mortgage interest to report. You are not required to report mortgage interest on your tax return. You can only deduct mortgage interest if you itemize your deductions.
