Generally no, disability income does not count for the Earned Income Credit.  To get the Earned Income Tax Credit, you must have income that the IRS considers to be earned.  Social Security Disability is specifically excluded from being considered earned income. 

 

However, if you are receiving taxable disability income from an employer and you have not the minimum retirement age for that employer, then yes, it does count as income for the Earned Income Tax Credit.
