I had no trouble. If you are over 70 1/2 and enter a 1099R for a IRA distribution it will ask if it was a Qualified Charitable Distribution. Be sure you check the little IRA box between boxes 7&8. It will show up on the 1040 line 4b as 0 with the QCD by it. You do not enter it again under Deductions.
