I think you may have misunderstood something ... in the TT program it asks how much of the stimulus payment you got in advance ... this did not become taxable income. It is only used to figure out if you did not get all the stimulus payment you were entitled to ... if you did not get it all a credit would be on line 30 of the form 1040. If you got too much in advance no harm no foul ... you do not need to send it back.
