Deductions & credits

Here are the step-by-step instructions to complete the medical section in TurboTax:

Login

Go to your federal return

Select Deductions & Credits from the top of the screen

Click Medical Expenses

Start with your prescription costs, click continue

Then enter your expenses to medical professionals, click continue

Next, enter your expenses to medical facilities, such as hospitals, click continue

Enter your expenses for lab tests, click continue

Tell TurboTax what your spent on long term care, if anything, click continue

Then eye expenses

Medical equipment

Medical travel

Medical insurance

Other medical expenses

Report any reimbursement for medical care
