Here's how to add your Property Index Number on your Illinois return:
- Continue to Take a look at Illinois credits and taxes
- Scroll down to Personal, home and family credits
- Start/Revisit Property Tax Credit
- Fill out the information on Credit for property taxes
- On Property information enter your County and Property Index Number (PIN)
The Illinois Property Tax Credit is a credit on your individual income tax return equal to 5 percent of Illinois Property Tax (real estate tax) you paid on your principal residence.
