Deductions & credits
Normally this will clear by deleting the form 1098 and re-entering the form information. Follow these steps.
- "Deductions & Credits" tab
- "Edit" "Mortgage" topic
- "Delete" trashcan the form 1098
- "Yes" and "Continue"
- Scroll to "Your Home" section
- "Revisit" "Mortgage" topic
- "Yes"
- "Change how I enter"
- "Type it myself"
- Lender name
- Make a selection and "Continue"
- Enter your form information. Verify box 3 has mortgage origination date pre-12/17
- "Continue"
- Make selection and "Continue"
- "Yes" Most recent 1098 for the loan
- "Yes" original loan or "No" as applicable
- Continue and Continue
- "Review"
- Enter the final loan balance for 2021 (or beginning balance for 2022)
- No date since not paid off in 2021
- "Yes" since before 12/17
- Enter date (should be the same as your box 3)
- "Continue" and "Continue"
- "Wrap up tax breaks"
- "Show Breakdown of Itemized deductions"
