Congress changed the criteria for the child tax credit to under the age of 18 for tax year 2021 ONLY. Unless they change it again it is supposed to go back to under age 17 at the end of tax year 2022. And it also goes back to the lower amount of $2000 if you get CTC. But....who knows what tax laws will be changed.......
