Deductions & credits

What do you mean by "payment protection?'   What are you trying to do?  Are you having some sort of conflict with someone else who is trying to claim your child for the child tax credit?

If someone else claims your child and your e-file is rejected then you need to print sign and mail your own tax return and let the IRS sort it out.   They will process the mailed return and then in a year or so send out letters to both parties to sort out who could rightfully claim the child and get the child tax credit.
