However ... for now ... review the actual return ... is the dependent listed correctly ? Which box is checked? If the dependent is over the age of 13 you don't get the Child Care Credit, if over 16 you don't get the Child Tax Credit up to $2000 but you do get the Other Dependent Credit of up to $500.
