If I don’t use all my ACA subsidy credit (i.e. get a plan with a cheaper premium), will I get the remainder when I do my taxes?
We had a job change and qualify now for Marketplace Insurance. The application says we qualify for $1,655/month credit. It also mentions that we can choose to apply all, some or none of the subsidy to our monthly plan and get a tax credit when we do our taxes...
So...Scenario:
Say we choose a less expensive plan - like the Meridian Bronze - which costs approx. $950/month for 2. The difference between our subsidy and the Meridian HSA Bronze Premium is $705. As long as our income level truly stays at that $36,000 amount, does that mean the government will give us another $705/month (for the months we were enrolled) when we do our taxes?
