State tax filing

TurboTax will exempt Louisiana State Employees' Retirement Benefits if you selected that option when you entered Form 1099-R.

• Type 1099r in Search in the upper right
• Select Jump to 1099r
• Select Review next to your mother's pension
• Continue until you see Where is your distribution from?
• Select Louisiana State Employees' Retirement Benefits

You'll see both the $6,000 senior exemption and the state retirement exemption on Schedule E
