State tax filing
You do not report purchasing a house as your residence. The only thing you enter in regard to home ownership is mortgage interest paid, loan origination fees and property taxes paid. The actual purchase is not anything you enter on your tax return. If you paid any pre-paid interest or loan origination fees or property taxes in 2018 for that new house, those go on your 2018 return.
