State tax filing
New Jersey is among the few states that do not used federal adjusted gross income as a starting point for state tax. As a result, there are no federal adjustments. New Jersey does not have adjustments to gross income in the federal sense.
Form IT-112-R is built for every state—and a majority—like New York—begin with federal AGI which is why the adjustments section is there.
