State tax filing

No. You do not delete the state refund summary.

 

The state refund summary shows the state refunds you received last year when you filed your 2019 income tax returns. TurboTax pulls this information from your 2019 state tax returns. If the numbers are incorrect, edit the amounts (for example adjust the refund if you received a state tax notice that changed your refund or add a local refund you prepared and filed a local income tax return that was not supported by TurboTax.).

 

Your state refund may be taxable if you did not use the standard deduction last year. It's a good idea to go through the section Refunds Received for State/Local Tax Returns just to make sure you are reporting your refund correctly. If it is not taxable, TurboTax will not add this to your federal taxes.
