In the Desktop program you can efile 3 state returns for each federal return. But you only get 1 free PROGRAM download for 1 state. Then if you need to do another return in a different state you have to buy that state program download.
ps.....then if you want to efile the state returns it is 24.99 for each one including the first one. Or you can print and mail state for free.
