That's difficult to determine.  Depends on how long you are there.

 

IF you are working/living in ND more than 6mo-1yr , then you ARE an ND resident and you will likely be considered an ND resident by ND....even if you have not changed your Dr Lisc.   Intending to move back to MN "someday, someyear" is a hazy intention, an may not relieve you of the responsibility to file as a ND resident and pay full ND taxes as such.   (The only exceptions might be if you are a college student or in the military )

BUT, For a truly temporary job in ND of 6 mo or less, then you should only have MN taxes withheld, and only file MN as a resident....but if ND taxes were already withheld, then you'd have to file in ND as a nonresident and claim zero ND income to get the ND withholding back.
