@hgsmoth Any state that sent you a state refund sends or issues a 1099G for the refund. Or you could get a 1099G for a local tax refund. The confusion lies in whether the state or local refund is taxable on your federal return the next year. The state is not taxing your state refund and CA is not taxing your federal refund.
