State tax filing

Did you actually move your domicile (your main, primary home) from CA to FL in May 2023?  See "Change of Domicile" on page 10 of this California tax publication for an explanation:

If you did change your domicile in May, then for 2023 you will file a part-year resident CA tax return.  CA can tax all the income you earned prior to the change of domicile.  CA can also tax any CA-source income that you earned after you established your domicile in FL.  Note that rental income from property located in CA is CA-source income.

 

Florida, of course, has no personal income tax.
