State tax filing
I'm not seeing an easy way to do that in TurboTax (TT). You may have to contact TT support (I suspect they may not be able to help you)
I have taken a look at it and this is how I would do it (I have download TT, not online).
At the screen "Your 2022 Ohio Taxes are ready for us to check"
-Click Other situations
-Scroll down to School District taxes.
-Click Edit
-Go through the interview and change everything thing to what it should be.
-Click on "forms".
- Open SD100
- Review the SD100 for accuracy
- Check the AMENDED RETURN box at the top left of SD100 -that will cause form SD RE to be generated, by TT, and added to the forms list
- Fill out the SD RE form manually
- Print, Sign and Mail the two forms (SD100 & SD RE)
I'm not sure the forms can be accessed in online TT. If not, print out the SD 100, check the AMENDED RETURN box manually. Get the SD RE form here: (https://tax.ohio.gov/static/forms/ohio_individual/individual/2022/sdre.pdf) and fill it out manually
This was not something that TT is able to "catch". You are asked, in the SDIT interview about your SD residency status. Included is a box asking if tax was mistakenly withheld for the wrong district. You must answer those questions correctly to get the right result. Note: you will not get the mistaken withholding question when you go back and edit, but you can select "I did not live in Scholl district number #### at any time during the year".
