State tax filing

@ErnieS0

Hi, could you please advise on my case from above? Token 1121318. When I go to NY State tax section (NJ has been completed as non-resident) and go to "Taxes Paid to Another State", I click on "Edit" next to NJ and go to the section "Enter New Jersey Information", in the text it says "...your total tax for New Jersey of $9,449...". In the box below for "New Jersey tax paid by you" the amount that appears to be pre-populated is $10,531. I'm not sure how this number is calculated as it's done by TurboTax. Based on the feedback provided to others with the same error issue, I assume I need to change $10,531 to $9,449 in the box for "New Jersey Tax paid by you". The error I'm getting is for NY State tax submission "IT-112-R (NJ) : Tax Amount - TP should not be greater than the tax imposed by the other state."

Based on my W2 I've overpaid NJ taxes since my "State Income Tax" (box 17) for NJ shows $10,459.17 while what I'm liable for is $9,449 based on the TurboTax calculation. I want to make sure that by changing the number to $9,449 my refund from NJ doesn't get impacted.

I've used TurboTax for many years now and have been submitting NJ (nonresident) and NY (resident) state taxes for a while. I haven't had any deduction changes or employer changes or personal status/filing changes so I'm not quite sure why it's giving me this error this year.

Your assistance is appreciated. Thanks.
