ANNND if you are using the Desktop softwre.....make sure the NC distribution amount is NOT set at zero (on the page where you select the Bailey Settlement).
The NC distribution amount is the value of box 2a on your 1099-R form (or the Federally taxable amount of box 1 if box 2a is empty/undetermined). The NC distribution amount is the value that will be subtracted from NC oncome, once the Bailey Settlement button is selected.

For Online software users, the value proper value is automatically used when the Bailey Settlement button is selected.
