Partial NJ and NY resident, the instructions is really not clear
Now it’s time to do NJ and the instructions tell you to go put in number from other state tax return but not clear what form and what line to pull that number. My form NY 203 line 37 New York taxable income seems to be based on full year. I already input my time in NY which is 8 months. While as resident of Nj, My husband works out of NY and I work on of NJ,
Should I multiple that line by 35% (% of time spend in NJ) to get the double tax income or do I take 35-% of of my husband salary?
Same goes for the 2nd question on tax paid. What should I be basing this amount on.
