State tax filing

No, you do not need to delete your CA return.  You can simply go back into the CA return and walk back through the return until you come to the credit section where you will enter the amount you paid to AZ.  This will not change your income or other items you entered so there is no need to start over. 

 

If you are using the download version of TurboTax, you will do this by clicking the CA tab at the top of your screen to switch to CA or you can click on the state taxes tab and then select edit next to CA. 

 

If you are using the online version, you will simply click the state tab then edit next to CA, after you are done with your AZ return.
