Did you efile 1099s that you issued to contractors who worked for you ? If so the forms were efiled to the feds and you must distribute the contractors copies to them yourself. You can print them and mail them, hand them out or even attach them to an email as long as you issue them by 1/31.
The 1096 & 1099s are NOT sent to the state ... only to the feds.
