State tax filing
NC is not going to tax your Social Security---but you have to enter the SSA1099 for Social Security on your federal tax return. You also have to enter your 1099R from the pension on your federal return. NC taxes some kinds of retirement income---the information will flow from your federal return to your NC return. If you need to file the NC return it should be apparent. You do not have to file an ID return.
On your federal return:
Go to Federal> Wages & Income>>Retirement Plans and Social Security (SSA1099 and 1099RRB) to enter your SSA1099.
To enter your retirement income, Go to Federal> Wages and Income>Retirement Plans and Social Security>IRA 401 k) Pension Plan Withdrawals to enter your 1099R.
