State tax filing

What state were you working in after you moved out of NY? Which state did you move to?  If you were still working in NY, you would still have to pay taxes to NY for the entire year.

 

You would file your NY IT-203 for Non-resident and Part Year Resident return, then you would file your state return where you lived after leaving NY.  Most states will then give you a credit for the taxes you paid to your non resident state.
