State tax filing
Start in the federal interview under the "Wages & Income" tab.
- You will choose what you work on.
- Select the "Wages and Salaries form W2" topic.
- Enter your form W2 information exactly from your copy of the form W2.
- "Done with income"
- Answer any follow on questions
- "Continue"
- "State Taxes" tab
- "Continue"
- "Start/Update" your MD return
- "Edit" the "Income" topic
- At the bottom of the page "Done with Income"
- Next page you will be asked to enter the income from non-MD sources.
- Divide the W2 income by 12 and multiply by the number of months in WA to arrive at the WA income.
WA does not have a state income tax so you will not have a tax return for WA.
