State tax filing

Start in the federal interview under the "Wages & Income" tab.

 

  1. You will choose what you work on
  2. Select the "Wages and Salaries form W2" topic. 
  3. Enter your form W2 information exactly from your copy of the form W2.  
  4. "Done with income"
  5. Answer any follow on questions
  6. "Continue
  7. "State Taxes" tab
  8. "Continue"
  9. "Start/Update" your MD return
  10. "Edit" the "Income" topic
  11. At the bottom of the page "Done with Income"
  12. Next page you will be asked to enter the income from non-MD sources.
  13. Divide the W2 income by 12 and multiply by the number of months in WA to arrive at the WA income.

 

WA does not have a state income tax so you will not have a tax return for WA.
