There is a place in TurboTax to enter income tax withheld for interest, dividends and stock sales if you receive a Form 1099.
- For interest (1099-INT), enter tax withheld in Box 4 – Federal income tax withheld
- For dividends (1099-DIV), enter tax withheld in Box 4 – Federal income tax withheld
- For stock sales (1099-B), enter tax withheld in Box 4 – Federal income tax withheld
The federal tax withheld box is not visible on the screen unless you check an additional box. TurboTax will ask if you have other boxes to enter. Selecting this choice will show you all the boxes for that particular type of 1099.
