State tax filing

Did you live in each of those states for  part of 2021?   Or did you live in one state and work in the other one?  You did not explain why you have two state returns to prepare.   If you lived in one state and worked in the other one, you need to prepare the non-resident state return first so that the state you live in gives you credit for the tax paid to the state you worked in.   Preparing those returns in the correct order is important.

 

Or if you moved from one state to the other one during 2021 then you have to prepare part year returns for each one.  Why do you want to prepare KS "manually?"   What are you trying to do?
