You don't put anything from 2016 into a 2017 tax file.
You can only put yoru 2017 W-2 forms on yoru 2017 tax return

Your 2016 W-2 forms can only go into a 2016 tax filing.
1)....if your filing was blocked last year due to someone improperly claiming you and your child last year, you still need to file 2016 on paper now, but can now only use the desktop software on a MAC or Windows computer

2) IF you did successfully file last year, but need to add yet another W-2 for 2016, then you will have to AMEND that 2016 tax filing and and in that 2016 W-2 and again, mail it in.
